A Hero Who Touched Our Hearts
Behind every bracelet is a real child, a real family, and a story of extraordinary courage. Hunter was one of those incredible heroes.
Hunter was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma at age 14 and was referred to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for treatment, where he spent 18 months. Hunter loved giving his mom jewelry for special holidays, especially heart jewelry. As Mother’s Day 2023 approached, however, he wanted to give her something especially meaningful—a pendant that would last forever. Knowing the seriousness of his diagnosis, Hunter wanted to make sure his mom would always have something beautiful to hold close to her heart.
We were honored to welcome Hunter and his family to Bremer Jewelry, where Hunter custom designed the perfect gift for his mom for Mother’s Day. He selected an incredible diamond heart pendant, and together we added a blue stone—Hunter’s favorite color—to make it uniquely theirs. Hunter saved the pendant for Mother’s Day and was able to give it to his mom that day. Sadly, he lost his battle with cancer shortly afterward. Today, that pendant is so much more than a piece of jewelry. It is a lasting reminder of Hunter’s love, thoughtfulness and the extraordinary bond he shared with his mom.
Hunter’s story reminds us why the HERO Collection is so meaningful. Behind every bracelet is a courageous child, a devoted family and a love that lasts forever. His joy, courage, and loving spirit left a lasting impression on our entire team.
Although Hunter is no longer with us, his strength and spirit continue to inspire us. We are deeply grateful to his family for allowing us to share his photo and honor his memory as we continue supporting the lifesaving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The HERO Collection
The Dee Berkley HERO Collection celebrates the courage, strength and incredible heart of every child facing cancer—and the family members who stand beside them.
At the center of the collection is the HERO bracelet, originally designed for a St. Jude patient to wear as a reminder that they are brave, deeply loved and stronger than they know. While it was created with patients in mind, anyone may wear the HERO bracelet to honor or support a hero in their own life.
The collection also includes HERO MOM, HERO DAD, HERO BRO and HERO SIS bracelets, recognizing that every member of a St. Jude family demonstrates extraordinary strength throughout the journey.
Every bracelet carries a message of hope, love and unity. All proceeds from the entire St. Jude bracelet collection are donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
